This sermon addresses the existence of evil and why God tolerates it as presented in 2 Peter 3:1-10. Many have questioned “why a loving God would allow evil” and Peter addresses this question to the early church dealing with persecution and marginalization.

God gave us a free will either to choose evil or good

Thanks, Makooma, for the comment. I would say that it depends on what you mean by “free will”. If you mean that you are completely free to make a choice between good and evil with no inclination, predisposition or outside influence that affects that choice…then I would say that isn’t what the bible teaches. The bible says we are fallen and have sinful natures that predispose us to sin. Jesus said we are in slavery to sin (John 8:34, see also Rom 6:20). That means we aren’t free in that way. We cannot choose God or be holy. This is why everyone needs God to intervene or we are all without hope.
